Course Overview

This course program provides the knowledge and core skills required to allow dentists to manage severe bone defects with the use of Guided Bone Regeneration techniques. This will enable dentists to treat more patients and provide them with cutting edge technology to treat the most challenging cases.

Course Aims

  • Upon successful completion of this course program, participants will be able to;

  • Understand the theory of Guided Bone Regeneration.

  • Undertake expert patient diagnosis for vertical and horizontal ridge augmentation.

  • Make informed choices in graft selection and treatment planning.

  • Apply the latest techniques to reconstruct peri-implant soft and hard tissues.

  • Perform micro-surgical suturing techniques and practical flap management.

  • Devise effective post-operative protocols.

  • Learn about complications and how to manage them.

Speaker
Dr. Isabella Rocchietta is a Specialist in Periodontology and graduated from the University of Milan in 2002. She was awarded a scholarship abroad to train as a clinical and research fellow at the Department of Periodontology, Harvard School of Dental Medicine, Boston, MA. Awarded an MSc with merit in Restorative and Aesthetic dentistry from the University of Manchester.


Dr. Rocchietta is an honorary Senior Research Associate of the Department of Periodontology of UCL Eastman Dental Institute, London. Lecturer for the Diploma in Implant Dentistry at The Eastman Dental Institute, UCL, London since 2018. In 2016 she was elected member of the European association for Osseointegration (EAO), Chairman of the Junior Committee of the EAO from 2006-2014. Elected member of the Osteology Foundation’s Experts Council. Author of publications in national and international journals. Speaker at international congresses on hard and soft tissue regeneration and tissue engineering in the dental field. Dr. Rocchietta currently performs clinical work in periodontics and implant dentistry  in London, U.K. and Milano, Italy.

Covid-19 Requirements
Per the recent city mandate, beginning Monday, September 13, the ULC is required to ask
members and guests over the age of 12 to show proof of vaccination either prior to or when
entering the Clubhouse.
